The Holy Family's Journey to Egypt
Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival at Cairo International Airport, meet/assist through immigration and customs and transfer to your hotel, check-in, overnight.
Day 2: Breakfast, full day sightseeing tour to visit the famous Egyptian Museum, after that you will visit Khan El Khalili Bazaars, lunch , then continuo the tour by visiting the great Pyramids of Giza, the Valley Temple and the Sphinx, return to the hotel, overnight in Cairo.
Day 3: Breakfast, early morning drive to Rafah (1st point), where the Holy Family had started the Holy Journey to Egypt, then proceeding to El Zaranik (also known as Flossiat, 37 km west of El Arish), visiting the Ruins of Flossiat church, dinner and overnight in El Arish.
Day 4: Breakfast, continuing our journey to Farama (mid way between El Arish & Port Said), visiting the Roman Coptic Ruins & Ancient Monuments, then proceeding to Tel Basta (the main town in Sharkia Governorate), visiting the Ruins of the Pharaonic Monuments & Jesus Well, then continuing to Mostorod (which was called in those days Al Mahamma), visiting the Virgin Mary's Church & the Holy Family's Spring, overnight in Cairo.
Day 5: Breakfast, early morning drive to Belbeis, visiting the Virgin Mary's Church & the Tree, passing by Meniet Samanoud (knows as Meniet Genah), then crossing the Nile afterwards to Samanoud (also know as Jemenouty), visiting the El Shaheed (Martyr) Abanoub Church, Virgin Mary's Trough & Christ's Water Wheel, driving to Sakha (in the District of Burullus Lake in the present day Kafr El Sheikh Governorate), visiting the virgin Mary's, then crossing the Resetta Nile branch afterwards to the Western Delta & Heading south into Wadi El Natroun (was called El Asquet), visiting the Monasteries of Chapel, Anba Beshnoy, El Sorian, Abu Makar & Al Baramous, then back to Cairo, overnight in Cairo.
Day 6: Breakfast, early morning drive to Ein Shams, which was a home to a large Jewish community, visiting the Ruins of the Ancient Monuments, then proceeding to Mataryia, where we will visit Saint Mary's Tree & the Christ's Spring, proceeding to Zeitoun, visiting the Virgin Mary's Church then continuing to Central Cairo, visiting the Church of St. Mark in Ebakia & the Church of Virgin Mary in Zuweila Alley, overnight in Cairo.
Day 7: Breakfast, driving to Old Cairo, visiting there the churches of Abu Seifen, Al Moalaka, Abu Serga, St. Barbara, St. George (in the Palace of Wax Workers, the Virgins Church (identified by its alternative name of Asreit Al Rihan or Basil Pot), Al Malak Al Quibli & all other Churches existed, then proceeding to Maadi, which was an outlying part of Memphis the capital of Egypt in the earliest times, visiting the Virgin Mary's Church (Al Adaweya or the Church of Ferry), overnight night in Cairo.
Day 8: Breakfast, crossing the Nile towards southern Egypt to Deir EL Garnos (10 km west of Ashnnein Al Nassra, near to Maghagha city) visiting Al Garnos monastery & the Holy Family's Well, then passing by Abai Issous (nowadays Sanfada city, east of Bahnasa city) & Samlout city, then crossing the Nile towards the Eastern Bank to Gabal El Tair or Gabal El Kaf (east of Samalout & south of Meadeyat Beni Khaled, visiting the Virgin Mary's Monasery. And then driving south to Nazlet Al Abed, visiting Abed Tree (the Worshipper's Tree), then crossing the Nile to Al Ashmonien (Hermopolis of Magna in the Greek Period), visiting the Roman ruins, dinner and overnight in El Menya.
Day 9: Breakfast, driving to Dairout Al Sharif (Philes), visiting the Virgin Mary's Monastery & Mary's Tree, passing by Qussquam (Qosqossia) & Meir (Meira only 7 km west of Qost qosia), and proceeding afterwards to Mount Qussquam (327 km from Cairo, in Assuit Governorate) visiting the Ancient Fort & Virgin Mary's Church in Al Monastery, then proceeding more south to Gabal Dronka (8 km south west of Assiut city), visiting the Virgin Mary's Monastery, then back to Cairo, overnight in Cairo.
Day 10: Breakfast, transfers from the hotel to Cairo International Airport for final departure.
Included:
- 07 nights accommodation at hotel in Cairo based on bed and breakfast.
- 01 night accommodation at hotel in El Arish based on bed and breakfast.
- 01 night accommodation at hotel in El Menya based on bed and breakfast
- Private guided tours and transfers as indicated above.
- All entrance fess.
