Hurghada
It lies 395 km south of Suez, and is noted for its magnificent summer and winter climate. The clarity of its water made it a center of tourist attraction especially for divers and practicing water sports because of the worldwide fame of its coral reefs and rare marine life through well-equipped glass bottom submarines.
Hurghada was founded in the early 20th century, and until a few years ago, remained a small fishing village. But today, it has gone on to become the foremost tourist resort of the Red Sea coast, one of the top tourist areas in Egypt, offering more than 60 km of beach stretching along the coast of the Red sea with its crystal clear water, multiple shipwrecks and unharmed reefs, and an international center for aquatic sports. If it takes place in or on the water you can do it here, windsurfing, sailing, deep-sea fishing, swimming, but above all, snorkeling and scuba diving. The unique underwater gardens offshore are some of the finest in the world offering diving sites that will amaze even the most experienced divers, justifiably famous amongst divers.
The warm water here is ideal for many varieties of rare multi-colored fish and fascinating coral reefs, which may also be observed through glass bottom boats. It is really, paradise of scuba diving, snorkeling, deep-sea fishing and underwater photography frequently head for Hurghada on the Red Sea.
A town ring by mountains, desert, a clean sandy shore and clear blue sea. About three miles south of town is a burgeoning resort area, where visitors are seeking recreation rather that luxurious life, to help in creating such an atmosphere there are a number of other organizations developing a modern infrastructure of tourism.
This area has many fine accommodations, usually offering warm and efficient service. Restaurants are mostly along the main road. While in Hurghada don't miss the museum and aquarium, with their complete collections of flora and fauna of the Red Sea.
Today, Hurghada is known as a party town, particularly among Europeans. Locals and others will tell you that life begins at night in Hurghada, with the many, many coffee shops, clubs and discos. They are particularly frequented by the young, but certainly many others of all ages. It is also a beach resort, where thousands of Europeans and others come with their families to enjoy the sun and fun of private resort beaches, some all inclusive. Many of these hotels offer so many activities and facilities that one may never need to leave the resort.
Islands near Hurghada offer all kinds of fun and excitement. Take a day trip to greater and smaller Giftun islands or Abu Minqar island near to the coast of Hurghada, Shedwan island, on which stands a lighthouse, about 35km from the coast of Hurghada.
